Gaining experience as a chorus stalwart she also started to produce shows as well as being heavily involved in all backstage areas – where she can generally be found covered in paint, glue and glitter depending on the show. However, she found her niche when she began to collaborate on homegrown scripts for the annual society pantomime, and gained a taste for writing comedy. Eventually, she bit the bullet and started writing solo and has in recent years written and produced several very successful pantomimes for the Wells Operatic Society. The success of her version of Dick Whittington at the Somerset Cinderella Trophy Awards, where it scooped the Cinderella Trophy itself for best pantomime in 2011, led to publication and has only fuelled her enthusiasm to continue writing.
