After leaving university where he wrote many cabarets, revues and a musical, Chris started contributing songs and scripts to the BBC Children's TV programmes Play School¯ and Play Away. He also wrote for several BBC Schools Radio and Further Education programmes. Then, with Michael Sullivan, set up the publishing company, Youngsong Music which specialises in musical plays for young people which are still performed by schools and youth groups. Chris and Michael wrote many of these. In recent years Chris has been writing one-act plays for adults to perform, a couple of which have won awards in the All England Theatre Festival. He has also written three full-length plays. Chris has involved himself with amateur dramatic groups wherever he has been living; and he has been known to write, direct, play keyboards and direct the music, and very occasionally act for the Kelvin Players in Bristol.
