Bob Bishop

Bob Bishop

As resident playwright for the Fossick Valley Fumblers company from 1981 to 2001, Bob had many of his plays premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe, including the hugely popular Jasper Scruple series (Oh, Sir Jasper! Sir Jasper Rides Again! and Sir Jasper Pulls It Off!) and the Sherlock Holmes comedies (The Unexpurgated Sherlock Holmes, The Repulsive Affair of the Red Leach, The Borneo Ape, and The Giant rat of Sumatra.) Musicals, most in collaboration with composer Robert McNeil Watson, include Dick Turpin, At Last the Long John Silver Show, Dracula’s Last Stand, Julius Caesar - the Musical, Dr Cadaver’s Black Museum and James Bond’s School Days. Bob’s mastery of comic dialogue is evident also in his highly inventive pantomimes, most of which feature Robert McNeil Watson’s music.  Bob’s first novel, A Tickle Amongst the Cornstalks was published in 2010.
